Colton Cowser 2024

Recommended Posts

I’m a Cowser fan but he has the 7th lowest WPA among all batters. 1/17 with 9 K’s in high leverage situations. Just not good enough to look at that pitch in any situation, let alone that one.

He's looking like Bad Cowser again. Give it a couple of weeks, bring back Kjerstad if it doesn't get better.

No he’s not. As was talked about today, he’s hitting the ball hard. He’s seeing a lot of pitches.  The results have been awful but the approach and quality of contact have not.

Ouch!  Right down the middle.   What a contrast in at bats.  Westburg rarely has a bad one.  Cowser has some head scratchers.    Sitting on a slider 1-2.   Really?

He has insane skills and potential but he's such a flawed player.  He has to at least hit a ground ball on that 10th inning strike 3 down the middle of the plate.  Worried he's a AAAA+ player until further notice.

No. He’s definitely a ML player but he can’t be guessing in that situation.   Growing pains.

I hope Hays is ready to go on one of his infamous heaters at the plate. The Orioles need it with their slumping outfielders at the moment.

Im excited to watch Hays ground out and Mullins pop up

Cowser has a .442 OPS in May.  Would rather have almost anyone up but him in that situation.

Except Cedric...

Not much to choose from there:

Cowser since 19 April: 9 for 63, .143 BA

Mullins since 22 April: 5 for 57, .088 BA

--getting into Jackson Holliday territory... 2 for 34, .059 BA

Cowser vying for the 2023 Jorge Mateo award.
