Or Stowers frankly. Maybe they should just gift us Bassitt “ooo sooorry for the whole Duquette thing, eh?”

If Stowers was going to show something, he would have shown it by now.  He's a 4th OF/platoon bat at most.

Has he really been given an opportunity? Hard to prove anything stuck at AAA or on the bench up here. Stowers has 36 ABs this year and the same amount last. He’s appeared 19 games …so 2 per game. And was recalled May 13 to June 19th (optioned to AAA). Plus the last two games before the ASB.

You can’t say he hasn’t performed because he has an .800 OPS. Yet has only played in half the games and only enough to average 2 ABs.

Not true. Actually I think Stowers and Norby are now worth more to us next year than they would bring back in a trade. They shouldn’t just be “throw ins”. Contending teams likely want high ceiling players versus dudes that will be role players on their losing teams.

We’ll see what happens, but I could see them staying and being on next year’s squad.

Shouldn't the Orioles, as a contending team, want high ceiling players versus dudes that will be role players?

What value have Stowers and Norby provided the 2023 and 2024 teams?  Why should 2025 be different?

Homie, you need role players/platoon players. Aren’t Cowser, Hays, Urias, Mateo, and even guys like Kjerstad, Mounty, and O’Hearn, role players/platoon guys.

Those guys aren’t auto starts every single game. Matchup guys.

Norby replaces Hays as the RH member of the LF platoon.

Stowers takes over Cowser’s role this year as Cowser becomes the everyday RF.

So the other contending clubs need role players/platoon players?

So why are they more valuable to the O's?

Elias seems disinterested in playing either Stowers or Norby, I see no reason that trend won't continue.

He’s not disinterested. Where would they play?  Norby came up when we had an injury. Stowers has been used when we wanted Kjerstad to go down and get ABs.

We’re not so low on these guys. Both can hit. They get their chance next year. Urias, Hays, and Santa move on. Cowser/Kjerstad replace Santa. Stowers back fills in behind Cowser.

Think about a football depth chart. Right now Norby and Stowers are 3rd on it. Next year they’re 2nd.

This isn't football.

But have been jumped on your depth chart, what makes you think hey won't be again?  Frazier was brought in to play the position Norby plays.

It might not be football but offensively we’re deep like an Alabama defense @Roll Tide  haha.

Frazier was for 2023. It’ll be 2025 next year for Norby. That’s two years of development. Norby replaces Hays in LF anyways. Cowser replaces Santa. Stowers replaces Cowser.

Those two replacements on the big league team next year are worth more to us then they would bring back in a trade.

Not saying they won’t be traded. Heck, we might have to trade the kitchen sink. Just I think rebuilding teams will want younger, higher ceiling guys, that could be starters like EBJ, Horvath, Fabian, Wagner, Willems.

Rebuilding teams don’t want role players.

Rebuilding teams do want role players.  They have rosters to fill out.  A guy they can plug into the lineup tomorrow has value to a rebuilding team.  Norby have over a thousand AAA PA.  You think he's still "developing"?  There is a thing called diminishing returns.

Think of it like this,

Lebron needs a 3 and Defense guy around him. A guy like Deladova or Reeves. That’s a very valuable role to a contending team. A role player. A specialist.

That guy that was so valuable to Lebron, the Charlotte Bobcats don’t want. They’d rather take the chance that another player can do it all and not just be a specialist.

So for 2025

Norby - His role will be to play LF vs LHP. He’ll be an emergency 2B option as well if injuries happen. That’s a clear role.

Stowers - Stowers will be our 4th OF next year.

These are what role players are on a contending team. You can only play 9 guys at once. Why would another team want our part time role players?  They want younger guys with higher ceilings.

All of this is just my opinion. You’re entitled to yours as well and I’ll listen.

So you've moved from the NFL to the NBA?  Going to tell me about the Red Wings next?

When the O's were rebuilding they would have handed Stowers an outfield spot and waited to see if he turned into Santander.

Elias has bypassed both Norby and Stowers before, I don't understand why you think he won't do it again.  If he wanted to have them on the ML roster they would be there by now.

You don’t know sports?  Maybe that’s part of the problem. Also, you rarely throw out ideas of your own. You just criticize and nit pick like an 8th grade girl.

Keep picking then nits, bro???

It’s the “steel man” argument style. The opposite of straw man. You’re not the original.

Nice to see you going with attacking me instead of my points.

So I guess you agree that a rebuilding team would make use of an asset like Stowers?
