Would the Orioles consider Trevor Bauer ?

He talks about suing the league.

He is a member of the MLBPA and his bargained legal recourse is a neutral binding arbitrator who acted in cutting his suspension.

Courts rarely if ever intervene in collective bargained actions, he was aware of the terms of the MLB Joint Domestic Domestic Policy when he signed the contract.

This is a very hard moral quandary. We live in a society with a justice system where you are innocent until proven guilty. He has not been convicted of anything. That said, with the number of women coming forward, it seems like at best he's into rough stuff with women. It may be consensual, but still doesn't make it right.

Having said that, I rooted hard for Ray Lewis and he's still loved in Baltimore. I will root for Trevor Bauer should he put on the Orange and Black.

Why did we need yet another thread on this guy?  What hasn't been said in the other ones?

Everything has been said.  But our rotation is thin and Bauer is 8-0 in Mexico!

Roy is desperate.

Watch his you tube videos.  He does not seem the least bit strange to me.  Just seems like a normal guy.

We disagree again.  The dude is creepy and is totally in love with himself.    Hmmmm.

I do think Elias next 30 days get interesting if Kremer is down longer than initially anticipated adding to the stack.     I feel clear what he wants to do with Chayce McDermott, but the roster's need will maybe be greatest until July 30.

Norfolk and Bowie probably have several others more accomplished this season than Jake Bloss or Trevor Bauer, and who won't get Gerrit Cole extra PRIMED to embarrass you.

You’ll notice, Roy, unless I missed it, didn’t really take a stance even though you can see he’d be for it.  He gave himself some wiggle room just in case.

Absolutely not.

Too many assault allegations, throwing teammates under the bus, his coaches and previous players don't like him, none really came to his defense aside from a half-hearted attempt from Betts that didn't even address the concerns. It's an awful idea for new ownership and it'll bring way too much unnecessary drama. The guy is a cancer who has no place in MLB.

Way too full of himself. Thinks he can fix everybody and that he knows everything. The worst kind of player for coaches and even worse for teammates.

As much as I am desperate to see the O’s win, there are some things that I consider non-negotiable for me personally and as a fan.

I could and would never support the O’s if they did something like what is being suggested.

I’m not willing to forsake character and a moral compass just to see my team win a championship… no thanks. Hard pass for me!

But I know/accept that’s just me… to each their own.

You better hope they don't trade for Chapman, you'll have to miss the World Series run.

BTW, I see Roy said he was 8-0 and I saw something about him striking out 19 one game.   Then I saw that 40 something, washed up, Robby Cano was hitting .442 with a 1.200 something OPS.    Too funny.

    • Because I believe how it works is they project FIP and then adjust based on team defense and park factors to project ERA. Since we’re talking about a trade, the context-specific elements of defense and park factors are less relevant. The projections have been shown to be more highly correlated with future performance than ERA or ERA estimators such as FIP.
    • Wait …what . Cedric has hit for .271 and .290 in his career. And I could also live with the .258 he hit a couple seasons ago.
    • I'm happy that I made it through yesterday intact but look ahead...there are thousands of viruses floating around out there, and it might thunderstorm this weekend...I feel there's a solid chance I get struck by lightning at least twice...my "health" will likely be short lived...but I'm happy to be alive...for now..
    • Pittsburgh signed Keller thru 2028.  As much as I would like to trade for him, I think they plan to build their rotation around Keller and Skenes.  Keller is a #2/3 with ace upside.  If their GM would think to move him, they would no doubt want a package starting w/ Mayo/Basallo or Holliday, fair or unfair.
    • We've talked about this many times over the years, but I'll never quite get the kind of mass hysteria narratives that sometimes spread around MVP or other award voting. In 1996 ARod was obviously a better overall hitter than Gonzalez, definitely a better baserunner, and while Rodriguez was a good shortstop Gonzalez was a below-average corner outfielder. There was no WAR at the time, but retroactively this is reflected in ARod winning that metric about 9-3. But as often happens someone runs with one crazy idea or the other and they give the award to the clearly worse player. Makes me think it's usually just a way to sell more newspapers with controversy.
    • Right …would anybody be for us picking up Flaherty again? I know I wouldn’t
    • I worry about Keller ….pitching well then goes to a new team and pitches at the 4 ERA he was last season.
