Their good year has stuck longer than I thought it would, and yesterday they passed Bobby Witt's team for momentary AL6 position.

It'll be an interesting month for Yale rookie GM Craig Breslow...I see some similarities with the 2022 Orioles who "weren't meant" to be playoff contenders yet.

Following Basallo closely this year, Marcelo Mayer, Roman Anthony and Kyle Teel stand out as well as some of the Eastern League's very best players.    One or two might push for ~125 at-bats late.

I've thought all year pending free agents like Nick Pivetta, Tyler O'Neill, Chris Martin and Kenley Jansen would be some of July 2024's surest trade bait, but now which way they will steer is fuzzy.     

The run of last place finishes looks like it will stop at 2 years.
