Zach Eflin 2024

Not exactly a gem, but the start we needed given the situation. Assuming he's done for the day, the stat line for his Orioles Debut is 6 IP, 10 H, 3 ER, 7k, and no walks. 

Thankfully, we are pounding Toronto 10-3 (the 3 run HR that Eflin gave up was - I think - the very next pitch after Gunnar booted a potentially inning-ending double play), so Eflin was able to give us some length to start the double header. Just what you need from a BOR starter.

I thought he looked good. Gave up a lot of hits and the one homer but has good overall command. 

Might not have had his best stuff but still went 6 and limited damage.

Helped out by the Wall and some fantastic outfield defense from Cowser and Mullins, but looked solid overall. He's a pitch to contact guy and we'll have to live with a lot of hits and fly balls probably. That said, I felt so much better with him out there than I do with Suarez or Povich or McDermott or Irvin.

Not great, but better than what we had/have been getting.

He got very lucky. But at this point (given that we’ve been getting) I will take it.

Very satisfied with his start today.  I expect to see a lot of starts like that one.

(With Os) 1 game = 1 quality start.  

I hope and expect he keeps pumping out QS.  In his 31 GS last year, Eflin had 17 QS.

Eflin’s faced Toronto the last 2 starts, was happy he did a good job considering these circumstances

Also had a very long delay after the first inning. Didn't seem to affect him too much.

ZE was amazed he was pitching to JM the next inning. Quite the introduction !

Toronto has hit him really well, this was a good start. Shame those runs were earned, that was an error on a slam dunk DP all day to end the inning.

Hits are ok, I guess, if spread out. And our defense….well, should help…

If,(and its a BIG IF) we get Grayson back and he can pitch well in the playoffs...and IF we get Westburg back too, we could go far in the post season.If we dont get them it might be a short post season.

We need Coulombe and Webb back healthy too, but Eflin is a refeshing bright spot among the arms of late.
