O's acquire LHP Trevor Rogers from Marlins

Marlins beat guy Craig Mish said last hour Bendix was close on Rogers before he would turn attention to relievers.

It is unlikely, but I guess not impossible, that Elias and Bendix are compartmentalizing and we could still bid for other Marlins.

2.3 years of control for Rogers. Im just worried he'll fall apart and become useless like Irvin has. Miami is a strong pitchers park. Interestingly he does better on the road. Not sure what that means.

This is the last day to get starting pitching; I think they saw what Povich has at present and don't see him as a viable option this year. If another SP gets hurt in the next couple of months, we are going to be glad we bought more depth. I'd love to see Skubal or Snell, but I'm glad we bought more pitching. Norby hurts a bit, but we're loaded in the infield; time to slather on the Mayo and go on Holliday!

I hope so because I'm ok with this trade on the surface but disappointed to have a trade with Miami that doesn't address the bullpen too.

Not because they're both white, shorter 2B but I've seen a lot of Uggla comps... have to imagine that increases a bit now the is a Marlin. 

I was hoping they held onto him but they had to get another starter to have a chance this year with Burnes and Ant still under contract.

Probably on his way to Miami for some much worse pitcher than we just got.

Terrible!!  How do we give up Norby and Stowers and not force Miami to include a bullpen arm in addition to Rogers.  Just awful.

I get that Stowers was blocked and never really given a chance here. But Norby was our #5 guy. Such a huge overpay but I guess Elias thinks we can fix this guy long term.
