Gave it a C.

Eflin: A

Dominguez: B

Rogers: C

Jimenez: D

Slater: F

G. Soto: B

The Slater trade only cost you cash and it also came with Livan Soto who is much, MUCH needed SS depth. Don't really understand how you can give that an F. Plus there's a distinct possibility that Slater is DFA'd and not even added to the roster. With a salary over $1M, he may be an automatic waiver clear.

Eloy - I like the value.  His ceiling is pretty high as a hitter (compared to other trade options).  Hate the fielding aspect...  I can't imagine him actually giving Cowser or Mullins a day off in the field.  Round peg in a square hole IMO, but need to see how they plan to use him.

So I usually see square peg round hole.

Are you suggesting he fits, but poorly with a clever proverb twist or are you like the bartender in Boondock Saints with a unintentional twist?

Unintentional...  I though the saying was interchangeable.

I think he’s a good answer to a different question.  I was anticipating someone who can play in our LF.

But there were only two who were upgrades over Hays (Thomas, Chisolm) for both aspects of the game.  The rest were defensive specialists (Pillar, Kiermeier types).  Or hackers like Soler and Eloy.  I didn't anticipate going in the hacker bin (i.e. I assumed defense > offense for the 20% PAs and field time).

I'm surprised at how there was so much negative reaction here on deadline day when I thought the deals were fine, but now that we're voting it turns out I gave it a below-average grade (B-) compared to everyone else here. Much like the rest of life, the most negative people are the loudest.

Honestly for me it was hard to keep up with what our roster was going to look like.
