I've never seen two better prospects absolutely crap their pants in their first taste of the majors. I mean, like they are worse than pitchers hitting bad. 

This is what I have said all year.   Fine.  2 of the top hitting prospects in baseball don't hit .300 starting out.  But these guys cannot even hit .100.  On top of that you have the rest of the hitters basically hitting high chops to second base.

Even in the worst years 3-6 years ago. the Orioles offense was never this bad.  This is a fundamental thing.  Either the players hate Hyde (vets and the young guys)-which imo they do, and/or the techniques being taught at the minor league level do not at all correspond to the majors. 

 

Either way something has to change and change NOW.

It seems that now the bottom has fallen out. The Giants are 6 games below .500, but then so are the Orioles since mid-June. That's three months of baseball.

There are 12 games left, they probably make the playoffs if they win 2 or 3 more games. So they would have to basically lose out not to make it.

Orioles will definitely be limping into the playoffs. If they are lucky, they might be able to fend off KC for the top WC spot.

I feel like there just must be  a more playoff worthy team than this.  They don’t seem like a team that should be playing in post season.

Thats 80 games. Thats half a season. And thats .462 ball. Significantly worse than .500. And the quality of play has gotten far worse recently as we all can see.

6 games under .500 over 80 games isn't significantly worse. 20 games under at 30-50 is significantly worse
