Didn't realize it was a 3-ball count. So it was equally dumb to run Wieters there.

Eh, I think it was fine. It's certainly not unusual to start a runner from first on a 3-2 count-- managers do it all the time. And yes, Wieters is slow, but the Red Sox have been historically bad at throwing out basestealers this year.

And technically Wieters was safe, they just didn't get the call.
