I would not have an issue with this, provided it was low guaranteed money.

I would go one step further. One year with a club option for a second year or a buy out. This would give us some protection for 2016. Also Buck needs to play Morales some at 1b so he has some comfort level if retained for 2016.

Am I the only that watched Morales last season. He would have to be super super cheap. Not worth it IMO. I rather have Christian Walker getting those ABs / time at 1B if needed.

Yes, Morales had a bad year. He didn't play the first two months of the season.

I would hope he has a full ST he can do what he did in 2012 & 2013. Maybe better in Camden Yard than Seattle.

Absolutely. If you can't get Cruz, you try and identify the "next Cruz". Morales could very well be that guy.

With a bounce back 2015 he COULD be our best TRUE switch hitting power hitter since the days of Eddie.

I would really like him as part of our Pearce/Davis/X flexibility between LF/DH/1B. I think he could be a great bounce-back low risk signing.

My ideal DH would be someone with better OBP skills. I'm not normally super stuck up on OBP, as long as the player has enough other skills to make up for it. But the only player on the Orioles that Steamer projects to have a .330 or above OBP next year is Steve Pearce, and that's definitely no sure thing.

In my opinion, De Aza isn't good enough as a leadoff hitter and the Orioles need one. I think they ought to try to sign Nori Aoki for something like 3/24 for RF. Non-tender or trade De Aza. Bring in Ike Davis for DH and re-sign Delmon Young.

From what I've seen, Morales isn't worth bothering with really. Just assume bring back Young really and that's not a ringing endorsement for Young. I really want Dexter Fowler and Justin Upton. Fowler could be had for MacFarland and Hunter. Then offer Miguel Gonzalez, Dariel Alvarez, and Wright for Upton. See if they bite. An OF of Upton, Jones, Fowler would be amazing.

I'd be shocked if Morales puts ul an .800 OPS. I'd say around .320/.430/.750.
