This is an article that I came across from 2004 about Elvin Hayes' post-basketball playing days (Hayes retired 20 years earlier in 1984.)

Hayes does not follow basketball at all since he retired ....... in fact, he could only name one member of the Wizards/Bullets that was playing at the time, and that was Jerry Stackhouse.

The sport that Hayes has followed in his free time since his retirement was the sport that he always loved the most, even when he was a superstar NBA player ........ baseball.

I learned something new about Hayes today.

Elvin Hayes and Wilt Chamberlain are the only 2 rookies ever in the shot-clock era (1954-present) to lead the NBA in scoring.

Hayes and Chamberlain ...... that is pretty elite company.
