Agreed. I'd def take Ramirez on a 3 year deal. But, I think it take atleast 5 to get him here.

I voted yes because I see first base as a big hole for the organization. We have zero first base prospects, and this team hasn't had a productive first baseman since Raffy's first tour.

I guess. It's a fine enough deal in a vacuum. But it's probably going to end up as 1/5th of a 75-win team's payroll. I'd much, much, much rather spend the money on something that'll actually help build the organization.

My answer is completely predicated on the idea that we're going to have a major-league payroll of X. I'd rather spend an extra (ridiculously high amount of) 23M a year on overslots and international prospects, but I don't think that's how the money works. But I'm happy to add Prince to some hypothetical 80-100M payroll at that contract.

If I were the GM i would not do that deal, but since the front office isn't interested in the restructuring the organization needs, I'll take Fielder as a consolation prize. We won't win with him, though.
