Chris Davis Count Down

That's because Babe's weight gain was from smoking, drinking like a fish and eating whatever was within arms reach.
Even the Big Bambino himself, Babe Ruth, injected himself with extract from a sheep's testicles, hoping for increased power at the plate (and in the bedroom).

Of course the story is that Ruth, like Roberts, only tried it once...

The game is pretty much clean now. Just check the yearly power numbers. They have gone down sharply from the steroid years back to the previous levels. Serious testing and suspensions took care of that. If Davis does it, it will have been clean.

No They are technically PED's, but there wasn't an inordinate spike in numbers during the era of their use, so they did not impact performance conditions to the extent PED's did, IMO.

So they are, but you think they don't count. I will at least give you credit for admitting they are PED's, that is a lot more then some others.

Well there is no evidence of an inordinate spike due to HGH so is that not cheating?

Why did McGwire's neck end up looking like a cheese grater?

Why do some people fall into the media's trap of demanding a perfectly even playing field when standards for what constitutes Major League Baseball and what's legal and what isn't and what's acceptable and what isn't have been in continuous motion since, like, 1840?

Maybe. Or Bud unjuiced the ball the allowed to be juiced in 1994 to convince everyone he was the Hero Who Saved Baseball From PEDs.

I see your point. You don't believe Bonds took steroids?

He obviously did, and admitted he did. But steriod arguments are rarely about context or evidence. Hence the anti-zit cream like before-and-after pics, the first a blurry pic of some kid who scared the others at their high school, the second of Jennifer Love Hewitt in a bikini. The before pic of the ballplayer is from when the guy was a teenager wearing a uniform three sizes too big, and the after pic is hand-picked from 1000s taken 15 years later to maximize the appearance of size.

Are you sure? What are these steroid lozenges I have been hearing about where the player can ingest them and then test clean the next day?

I have never denied that the older players may have used. But look at Hank Aaron compared to Barry Bonds. It is not completely obvious that Aaron used.
