Per Rosenthal: Balfour (FINALLY) to Orioles...

Nothing ground breaking but Jen Royale (with cheese) said Balfour's preference is Baltimore. Not sure this is accurate but figured I would pas on the tweet news.

I'm surprised that Jen Royle could admit that anyone's preference is Baltimore.

It just occured to me that Duquette traded Jim Johnson for Jemile Weeks and Andy McPhail traded Koji Uhuera for Chris Davis, Darren Oday, and tommy hunter...

Damn I actually quite miss andy mcphail. Lets not forget that at the time of both trades JJ was much more valuable than koji was at the time.

I'm not so sure about that. We didn't HAVE to deal Koji. Texas was in a pennant race and needed that extra arm in the bullpen.

We had no leverage with Johnson. None.

The reason we got so much for Koji it was a deadline move. Texas was hurting for Pen help.

I'll feel adequately satisfied with a Balfour signing in and of itself, since it will finally be at least one significant player acquired on our part; however, on the whole if Balfour is it, all we've done is patched the hole left by JJ leaving. It's like plugging a leak in the bottom of the boat without paying attention to the busted motor.

A little steep but if that what it takes to keep it from 3 years, then I'm fine with it.
