I was just looking up relevant forums for other teams in the league, but there really isn't a great fan base on these websites. For instance, in Mariners Mania Forum ( http://www.marinersmania.com/forums/ ), which eerily looks exactly like our hangout. The huge difference is that the most active users they ever had online was a merely 266!!!!! Thats how much we have on everyday! And they have 11 people on right now. I started this thread to show my appreciation of the Orioles fan base (the hangout)... keep it going guys!!!! We truly love the Os...

Each team has obscure message boards and you located one of Seattle's.

In a city such as Baltimore with only one major daily newspaper, a message board such as Orioles Hangout is needed to provide some diversity. Seattle's two major daily newspapers both have active Mariner message boards:

http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/forum/boards/viewboard.asp?boardID=1

http://forums.seattletimes.nwsource.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=22

Like every team, the Seattle Mariners have an MLB-sponsored message board:

http://www.forums.mlb.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?webtag=ml-mariners

Seattle has active blogs that follow the Mariners:

http://prospectinsider.com/

http://www.ussmariner.com/

http://www.lookoutlanding.com/

U.S.S. Mariner lists seven other blogs but makes no mention of Mariners Mania.

The homepage of Mariners Mania hasn't changed in a year and its message board has been dormant since December. The inactivity on Mariners Mania is not indicative of the interest in the Seattle Mariners.

But thanks for bringining Mariners Mania to my attention ... I follow Seattle sports closely and I had never heard of it.

Great points, and true, but it is still an obscure message board. Thanks for the links, now I can look at what Mariners fans have to say.... are there any obscure Oriole Forums out there? if, yes.. can anyone name them?...

These Orioles blogs are awaiting their first comments in response to posted material:

http://www.orioleshomeplate.com/

http://www.oriolesnation.com/blog/

Who knows? In two years these sites might be on top of the Baltimore blogosphere.
