I apologize to everyone since this is beating a dead horse and way after the fact. But what was Jones doing in that at bat?? Getting down 0-2 is fine....swinging at that pitch once you are in that situation? I don't know. My mindset is getting a called third strike is way better than swinging at that pitch. But I am drunkenly typing this and not actually playing in the ALCS.

The guys is throwing 98+, Adam has to start his swing early to get around on that, he just couldn't hold up. He's not the type to stay back and spoil a bunch of good pitches in general, and especially not when he's pumped up in big spots.
