Its time to promote Chris Parmelee (Activated, Chen to Frederick)

wildcard

Parades isn't going anywhere. Neither is Delmon. I think it's Snider. It's basically a direct swap. Parmelee has better LT value and probably short term as well. How mad would we all be if DD offered Snider Arb next offseason. It would be a De Aza repeat. I'm not worried about losing Snider to the Rays. But I wouldn't want to lose Parmelee. This is Pat Neshek all over again and DD has learned from his mistake.

Great post. Agree. I also think you could get something for Snider still (not much, but SOMETHING).

Maybe. Last 5 games. 7-21, 3 runs scored, 3 RBI He's still contributing. I would not give up on too soon.

Yeah, he was 2-32 over 8 starts (plus a pinch hitting appearance) between 5/28 and 6/5. He was great before that and fine since. He isn't going anywhere anytime soon. He earned the benefit of going through a weeklong slump without being released with his six weeks of great play.

That would be cool! I wonder if a trade was ever "re-traded" for in MLB. Anyone know?

There have been 5 players essentially "traded for themselves" by being named a player to be named later in a trade that had sent them to the team that is now sending them back.

We could ask for Tarpley and Brault back.

In case anyone is curious, I regularly visit a site that provides updates on all of the Pirates' minor league games at the end of each day, but it is subscription based so this link won't work for most of you.

http://www.piratesprospects.com/2015/06/prospect-watch-tarpley-and-sadler-falter-brault-sharp-again.html

Anyway, what it says is that Tarpley and Brault are currently pitching on the same night for their respective teams. Brault has been a bit better so far (though Tarpley was slowed by an injury to start the season). In his last ten starts combined, Brault has been the best pitcher in the Pirates' organization, posting a 2.10 ERA, giving up a total of 13 earned runs.

If it makes you feel better, Tarpley had three straight strong outings of five innings each, but in his last two games, he has allowed 18 hits and five walks in 8.1 innings over his last two games.

As I've noted twice on this thread, Paredes is hitting .500 with runners in scoring position. He is 4th in RBI's despite only playing about 3/4 of the games. He is the only player on the team that can hit a double play and beats out the relay consistently. Some of his RBI's have come on first and third situations and beats out the relay and gets an RBI. Lough and Snider have shown nothing near what Paredes has done at bat. Snider is no great OF, he typically misses cut offs and throws to the wrong base. Lough is superior in the field. I will be disappointed if Paredes gets the axe.

Brault was the guy I felt like we should have kept, but both are a long way from the bigs.

We'll see. Brault is a little old to be a prospect at high-A and he isn't striking anyone out. It would be nice to see him doing what he is doing in AA by the end of the year.

Well, the picture leaves out a pretty important piece of information--who else is on the bench besides Jones and Pearce. Is Delmon Young still on the team or not?

By the way, that is one ugly lineup. No Adam Jones, no Matt Wieters. We really should sweep the Phillies but this lineup is tempting the baseball gods.

From Roch today:

The Orioles are familiar with Phillies right-hander Jerome Williams, who's registered one victory since April 26. In his last three starts, he's allowed four runs and eight hits in five innings, four runs and nine hits in 4 1/3 innings and four runs and nine hits in six innings. Williams has surrendered five home runs in those starts.

I'm assuming Delmon Young is gone. There's no way Reimold is gone, right?
