Without getting some help in starting pitching this season, we are toast. To get a FA pitcher, we are going to have to overpay for what they are worth, unfortunately. To get one in a trade, you are going to have to give up too much. You either bite the bullet or you dumpster dive like we did with Miggy and Chen and hope to find some treasure in someone else's trash.

Kazmir's average fastball velocity has been between 90-92 every year he's been in the majors.

If you look you will see his velocity plummet in 2011. Then you will see he didn't pitch in the majors in 2012. There was no major injury.

All of sudden in winter league ball his velocity is back.
