It is Doug Fister, who has lost four mph off his already fringy fastball over the past four years. And who has a sub-6.00 K/9. And who will be selling his 2014 ERA of 2.41 while hoping you don't notice his below-average 4.19 2015 ERA is pretty close to his 2014-15 FIP. Also, he's pretty indistinguishable from Miguel Gonzalez and his 1/5 deal.

Yup. Fister's ceiling isn't very high anymore. Would rather go with just about any other pitching option.

Here's an article from fangraphs stating that there could be close to 200 post-December free agent signings this year, compared to a range of 90-150 during 2009-15. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/preparing-for-the-hottest-january-stove-in-years/

Anyone else think this is the market correcting itself a bit?

Salaries exploded in the early-2000's only to level off and come back down a bit in the mid-2000's. Remember the lack of demand when we signed Tejada and Vladdy signed with the Angels in 2004? Seems like it is happening again. These free agents are holding out because the demand/dollars are not there.

Could be good for us and I hope we take advantage. Players like Upton, Cespedes, Gordon, etc. could be available for much less than we initially thought.
