Davis' Mystery Team is ....Nationals? Tigers?

If the Orioles can't sign Davis my worst nightmare would be seeing him with Toronto, Yankees or Boston. So I for one, hope the Nats are actually the "mystery" team.

If so, why?

I know you didn't ask me, but they've improved their defense at short and have hedged better for injuries with Drew, Murphy, and Revere.

Not quantifiable, but there's less tension with Williams.

They were a good team last season that had a collectively horrible season. I'd bet a mortgage payment that they win the NL East despite the Mets rotation.

I think the Nationals might sign a Boras client.But not named Davis and even a former Oriole.

To me this just seems like a Boras ploy to squeeze as much as he can from the Orioles. The Nats are not an ideal fit for Davis. I have a feeling the O's might be Davis' only legitimate suitor.

The more I think about it, I'd probably just let Davis walk. Even if the Orioles are unwilling to sign Upton or Cespedes. Davis is just too risky to give 20+m over 5+ years.

On the bright side, if she doesn't find anyone better over the next couple of months I am sure she will take him back.
