I've got to wonder what the Rays were thinking with Rickard. He may just be hot right now, but it is very clear he controls the strike zone and has a swing that can get to pitches in any zone. Combine that with his obvious defense and good baserunning and there is no way you can let this guy get away for nothing. Weird.

It is weird! I know I'm responding hours after the fact. Listened To Jim and Fred at work tonight, watching the TV replay right now. His D especially impresses me. 2nd or third inning, he cut off a hard hit ball almost to the corner, did a slick spin move and threw a STRIKE, one hop to the front of the 2B bag.

Later he cut off that drive to left center, one big bounce off the wall. He beat Adam to the ball! Threw straight to 3B, JJ had to move to catch it and cut it but Joey stopped a triple right there.
