I believe in taking Airbourne, and double up, when flying, it helps the body's immune system fight off the bugs.

Airborne is snakeoil btw. This is why they keep settling lawsuits. Scamming people by selling them preventative measures is genius though, since you spend so much of your life not sick.

Snakeoil hogwash, it works, at least for my family, and several work in the medical field, and you know the germs that are in the hospitals.

How is it snakeoil?

Its just a mess of vitiamens that help your immune system, its not foolproof or guarantee, no different than getting a flu shot.

I will save you the argument. Just go look it up. There has never been a single decent study that has shown it has any effect, and they even have had to settle lawsuits because they can't legally claim it boosts your immune system because it doesn't.

And you saying it works...that's the genius of the scam. You think it works because you didn't get sick when you have no idea if you would have gotten sick.

Because it is sold as a dietary supplement and not as a drug, current American law allows Airborne to be marketed without prior review and approval of testing results that demonstrate that it provides a medical remedy.

There are no studies supporting Airborne's effectiveness that meet scientific standards. A study by GNG Pharmaceutical Services referenced in the debate over Airborne's effectiveness was sponsored by the Knight-McDowell Labs, manufacturers of Airborne.[1] In February 2006, ABC News discovered that GNG Pharmaceutical Services has no official clinic, scientists, or even doctors. Knight-McDowell Labs later removed all references to the study from their packaging and web site.[9]

A medical report on Airborne addressed some of these concerns, specifically regarding its large amounts of vitamin C:

There are some concerns. First, there is no conclusive evidence that this product or any of its ingredients prevents colds or shortens their duration. Second, the adult tablet contains 1 g of vitamin C, and the directions for use advise taking 1 tablet at the first sign of a cold and repeating the dose every 3 hours as necessary. Vitamin C in doses higher than 1 g increases oxalate and urate excretion and may cause kidney stones.[10] Third, the safety of this herbal extraction combination has not been established. And with herbs and dietary supplements in general, we only have the manufacturers’ word on the label for what’s in them.[11]

I believe you over state the case of too much Vitamin C.

Most people the excess vitamin c goes out their urine and no harm to the body.

Yes, kidney stones can occur, but thats the rarity, like diet coke can cause cancer in lab rats.

and from your own everyday health folks:

Side effects from too much vitamin C are very rare. This is because the body cannot store the vitamin.

The flu is going around the Orioles' clubhouse.

Buck Showalter has it, and he may not manage tonight's game.

Bench coach John Russell would take his place if Showalter were unable to go.

It isn't just the Orioles that have been hit:
