According to Orioles Transactions Dariel was optioned last night after the game. Borbon stays.

Still a move to make today to make room for Ubaldo. My guess is Tyler Wilson optioned.

Well Upton has apparently been traded to Toronto so barring other moves it seems Borbon will be the 5th OFer for a while.

It makes sense to keep Borbon. He offers protection behind Jones in CF and can be a pinch runner if needed. With Kim back, it's hard to imagine him getting too many starts.

It means that either Kim or Alvarez will have to start vs LHP until September when Rickard returns unless Buck is willing to DH Wieters.

I like Dariel, but at this point, Borbon is the better option for bench depth, if you have to chose between the two.

I am OK with that. Either one on his weak side is probably better than Alvarez on his strong side. You could also start Borbon vs LHP and go for a defensive lineup.

I am glad they kept him as well. Have to wonder if one reason is they thought someone else would pick him up. Borbon is just the kind of player who is useful in October.

He had a nice game last night except for that one at bat wit the pop up, big fan.

I still think RZNJ had an excellent out-of-the-box idea about converting him to a P. Guy has a cannon.

Alvarez isn't quite Urrutia yet. He can be a useful defensive sub in Sept. Any word on what happened with Urrutia?
