Will the fans show?

I understand both of these points - that said, again, put yourself in Mr. Angelos' old loafers. You've just spent more money than ever (by a pretty good amount) on putting together a good team; signed a perceived fan favorite to the biggest contract in club history. And yeah, you raised ticket prices, but you hadn't done that for a few years, so you were due and you still think you've got a pretty cheap ticket. And, for the first time in forever, the team has been consistently competitive, even getting to the ALCS two short years ago. Plus, your team this year has spent more time in first place than any other AL East club, and has been in playoff position virtually all year. All that, and your attendance numbers are still down this year?

That's not going to make you think twice about signing a player to another monster deal?

Mr Angelos should be more worried about understanding WHO his fan base is. You don't raise season tickets by 20% coming off a .500 season and do so 8 weeks before Opening Day, that is moronic. It gave 29 plan holders zero time to find someone to split the package with if they lost that person due to the price increase. Horrible business. This team played a ton of home games in late April and May when the weather sucked. No walkup for those games.

Building some sort of entertainment district (think the Powerplant Live area) around the stadiums and casino might help. It would make it easier for people to grab dinner or a drink before and after games and serve as a buffer area for people worried about safety in the city.

They are already doing it near the casino. Sort of an entertainment area.Hammerjacks is coming back.Paramount, a Long Island club is also going to open near the casino. Horseshoe wants to build a hotel and other things. AngelO's will not sell.He basically owns a sports network with 1 3/4 teams on the network for profit. One is in one of the biggest population markets.Should be making more money then ever .

That kind of pricing structure is really unfortunate if there are no bargain nights mixed in during the year for certain weeknight games. I hope the Warehouse learns from this. I do think it's a big contributor among all the other things mentioned.. I know for a family of four (we're coming to the final weekend series vs. Arizona), we were looking for economical solutions for seating. No way could we afford the premium games in that section. We're not rich (wife is a state employee and I'm a musician who's barely getting by), so we are pretty far away from the action. But we want to be there so that's where we agreed upon. It'll be our 2nd trip up there from NC this year. If we lived in MD, I suspect we'd be there a good bit like a lot of you, even if it's just me and a daughter (for economical reasons, not all four of us).

They need to run deals which has been pointed out OTHER teams are doing right now during school weeks. It isn't that hard to figure out that selling tickets during this part of the calendar regardless of where the team is in the standings is a challenge.

Once again as an Orioles fan you don't care WHO they were playing. Your concern was cost. They don't seem to grasp that at times.

Maybe fans should be more concerned about whether they want to keep a competitive baseball team in town. People called for the price increase to raise the payroll by 30%. We got what we asked for. Not me, I'd have taken the pick.

I don't care who they are playing. I just want to keep base cost down, be allowed to bring food and drink and play meaningful baseball in September. That's all I ask.

Payroll increased on a team that was basically the same team coming back. Peter isnt hurting for money. Majority of this seasons payroll increase was one year salary raises. Only one player was long term investment.

Really?

I didn't ask for any or the following:

JJ Hardy 3yrs/40 million

Darren O'day 4yrs / 31 million

Chris Davis 7 yrs / 161 million

Gallardo 2yrs / 22 million

Matt Wieters 1yr / 15.8 million

Ubaldo 4 yrs / 50 million

Brian Matusz 1yr / 3.9 million

None of these guys make the O's much better if at all

My perspective is that I'm not going to spend my hard earned money watching players that the O's wasted their money on.
