Wilkerson should not be starting ever against LHP. 2 hits in 26 at bats against southpaws.

Some of these guys still go with match ups. Smith actually hits LHP pretty well this year (.268), but not as good for his career (.237 in 76 ABs).

This guy had good raw numbers coming in, and he pitched like it against the Orioles.

Kirk Gibson (the Tigers' color commentator) said that the Tigers are not under the illusion that they are a good team overall right now, but when Boyd takes the mound, they feel like they can win against any team in the Majors.
