John Alan Means appears to have gradually  bounced back since the outing just prior to his minor injury last month.

He had a bad outing in his final game prior to the injury against the Diamondbacks, and another bad one in his first game back against the Yankees after coming off of the IL.

In the outing after that (also against the Yankees), he showed sings of dominance in the first 3 innings before the New Yorkers smacked him around in the 4th.

Then he pitched reasonably well (not great, not bad) against the Royals.

Then he had what was arguably his best outing of the season against the Rays, throwing 7 Innings of 1-Run Ball.

Then he followed that up with another solid outing in his most recent game, throwing 7 Innings of 2-Run Ball against the Royals.

In his last 3 outings combined, he has a 2.37 ERA and an 0.842 WHIP with 2 Walks and 15 Strikeouts over 19 Innings Pitched.

 

Kolby Kenneth Allard was a 1st-Round draft pick of the Atlanta Braves back in 2015, signing for a $3 Million bonus out of high school when he was only 17 years-old.

Rangers manager Chris Woodward is considering limiting Brock Burke's pitch-count in his next scheduled start Friday against Baltimore due to a 3-day bout with a stomach virus, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Burke, who began his Major-League career with 3 straight starts of 6 innings and no more than 2 runs allowed, said that he's lost 6 or 7 pounds while coping with the virus. He was able to throw a bullpen-session on Wednesday. "He feels better today, but not great ........ if we pitch him and he's iffy, weak, then we'll limit the number of pitches and/or number of innings that he throws," Woodward told T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com.

I don't know if one can really call it progress if his XBH's have disappeared.

First half's 30 hits included 5 doubles, 2 triples, and 4 homers.

Second half's 22 hits: 1 double, 1 triple, 0 homers.

Walk rate has also fallen off considerably.
