How can a team that has  Trout and Ohtani be this dismal to watch??

This year's Orioles are far more entertaining. How much could the Angels get back if they traded Ohtani?

I can see how some folks might think the Angels aren't trying to win.. though it's probably more just poor roster construction. Aside from those two, there's not much going on with this team.

One of my furious complaints about buck was that he left his pictures in too long, and he should’ve known better, he always left them in just a couple of batters too long at the beginning of the season Brandon was not doing that, and I was happy now he is doing it and I am not happy.

:noidea: SQUEEZED on that 2-0 curveball. Then a stupid pitch 3-0. His pitch count was legit to start the 6th. High 80s.

Have to think Hyde is pushing him due to pen issues. On a good team he isn’t going out there in the 6th.

And of course the pen isn't always a better thing.........

Yeah but yesterday was an easy day and Friday was too. Shouldn’t have issues. And he had to bring in a guy with 0 outs anyway, just now it’s a tie game.

    • Yup zero chance he is DFA’rd
    • This is the kind of game where Umpire Scorecards really drops the ball. You have an umpire who clearly can't see pitches below the zone calling a game where one of the pitchers is a sinkerballer who lives below the zone. Once he calls that outrageous strike on Henderson in the first inning every Oriole batter knows they have to swing at anything down that doesn't bounce in front of the plate. The umpire's incompetence goes beyond a handful of terrible calls to changing the entire approach for every batter on a particular team.
    • This is what I was expecting and hoping for at the beginning of the year, but then Mountcastle started hot and here we are.
    • He may be a lost cause, but they don’t know that for sure yet.  They’ll continue to try to nurse him along for at least several more weeks.
    • I don't think Kimbrel is getting DFA'd.  On the contrary, I expect they are working with him to help resolve the issues he's been having.  Easier said than done, but he's not a lost cause, as yet.
    • I was working spring training and summer league for the Orioles at the time and the unfounded and uniformed speculation about his work habits and personality traits could not have been further from the truth. Buck's  quote:  “I said, ‘I noticed last year the whole season you walked 17 times. What was that all about?’” Showalter said. “He starts laughing and I said, ‘Understand, it’s not funny. This won’t work.’ Buck was right in his assessment but the public statement and the twisting of that comment while the Orioles were moving him all over the diamond was wrong-he was a 20/21 year old kid intimidated by an older established manager-that was why he laughed. In my personal experience he was a humble, very likeable, hard working kid and the Buck/Duquette were out of touch with younger players.  The summer league coaching by washed up guys like Milt May was a joke compared to the support the other teams recieved.
