He sure pitched well for us until being traded last year. He is reliable and can eat up a lot of innings. He seems to respond very well to Doug Brocail and we should be able to get him at a pretty reasonable cost.

I'd have no qualms if we signed him, and none if we don't!

This is my feeling about it as well. I doubt he will really do a whole lot better than what we’ve already got except maybe some more innings and name recognition. I definitely wouldn’t offer anything more than Iglesias got though.

God no. Have you forgotten how terrible he was in 2018? And he finished the 2019 season so badly that Red Sox put him in the pen. I never want to see him and his bearded skullet in an Orioles uniform ever again.

You would be gambling a few million dollars on Cashner being serviceable. Orioles are on a budget so save those funds for player development.

Proven O's starters:  Cobb & Means.

The O's are counting on Cobb being healthy and a bunch of unproven minor leaguers and cast offs being dependable starters (able to go 5 innings regularly).  What happens if (when) Cobb gets hurt.

The O's are already going to have the lowest payroll or 2nd lowest payroll.  The idea that they can't afford to throw a few million at a major league starter is ridiculous.  I hope you guys are ready for a lot of games that are 9-0 in the 3rd inning.

If not Cashner, then another major league starter.

We knew he was bad when we signed him (you just had to look at the underlying numbers). Budget or no budget resigning Cashner and hoping for different results would border on insanity. Can we please not make him the new Chris Tillman, where we advocate resigning him just because we know his name? Sign anyone else.

I'd rather go through as many guys as necessary to find one young guy with a future. W/L don't matter.

This 1,000 times over. If they're ready we have the luxury of letting these young pitchers develop at the MLB level. We should take advantage of that.

I think that ship has sailed.

I don't think the O's are going to pay  over a million dollars for anyone they add.   Even a starting pitcher.   And Cashner is not pitching for that kind of money any more.

I understand what you're saying, but I just threw up in my mouth a bit looking at the list of remaining free agent SPs. Why waste the money on any of these retreads?
