Me too.  I would have voted against him to keep him from unanimous  in a heartbeat. I have no problem dissing Jeter and his whining at the plate and the MFYs.

Yeah Jeter belongs but the ignoring of his subpar defense at a key position bugs me. People don’t seem to get that you can be overrated and be a HoFer, Jeter is that. I would have voted for him but he’s not the greatest shortstop ever.

There is nothing in Grichs stats that say Hall of Fame. 1800 career hits.  No World Series appearances, best in MVP voting in a season was 8th.  .266 average.  Good player.  Not great.

I read today that his playoff WPA is a hair away from zero depending on which version you use.

There’s no doubt Jeter belongs in HOF, but it’s also not wrong to suggest Jeter might have been better off playing another position on defense.

I don’t care about unanimous but voting against him seems stupid just to keep him from being unanimous.
