Maryland vs. Iowa

That was vintage Cowan. Probably the best I've seen him play the last couple of years. He drove the ball with such confidence, amazing footwork in the lane. Shot well. Just excellent.

Made free throws! I love that. If we could shoot a little better and limit some turnovers this could be a top tier team.

Jalen Smith's defense was tremendous tonight as well. Undefeated at home.

Agreed all around. Great, fun game to watch start to finish!

This was probably the most complete game I've seen the team play. Really good to see them putting things together. Cowan was just amazing tonight. He's doing what seniors do this time of year!

Insane how much better they are at home. Wish they could sustain this level of play.

Stix has really taken his game to the next level. And when Cowan is locked in, everything just flows right.

I'm hopeful after this game that the team is starting to gel a little. I'm not enthused over the lack of depth, especially inside as Turgeon has all but buried Marial. I just hope Stix and Cowan have something left by tourney time!

Yeah, he's so athletic, but his outside shot has really fallen off with the line getting pushed back. He should drive more and become more of a DJ Strawberry slasher!

I think this off-season he was told by NBA people that he needs to be more than just a spot shooter. So, I think he has bulked up some and tried to elevate his dribbling/driving. However, he's lost some of his shine on outside shooting since he isn't working on it as much. And his driving is a work in progress too. I think this year he's just been in such a tweener phase with all sides of his game. If he stays next year he should have it all developed and could be a top player in the country, just need to stay a little patient right now. Just my 2 cents.

Great game, fun to watch. Unfortunately that means the next game will be a clunker. Hopefully I'm wrong and this team starts rolling. They can be very good and Smith has played with passion lately. Not sure what lit a fire under him but I always thought he played good when he gets mad at something. And he's been playing like that for the past month.

I haven't looked at the stats, but isn't he shooting better from outside this year?  Sure looks like it to me.  Let me check - yes he is shooting 41.2% from 3 point land this year compared to 26.8% last year.  His free throw percentage has also improved dramatically up to 76.4%.  Overall field goal percentage too.

He's just stepped his game up totally.  I've noticed he has been more decisive when under the basket, less shots falling away from the hoop.  He is trusting his strength.  Next step is to work on his dribbling and driving ability as you mentioned.   He indeed plays way better with a fire.

I hope he can stay healthy and doesn't get burned out by late March.  He is getting tons of minutes.  Maryland's lack of depth when it comes to bigs may end up hurting them.  I hope not.  Like I said when they left, the Mitchell twins added lots of size.  I don't trust Lindo, Marial, or Tomaic that much.  Need them to guard and rebound, Smith is essentially doing all of that near the rim.

I think you are looking at the wrong person or stats.

Wiggens shot 41.2% from 3pt LAST year, 32.2% this year. 86.7% from the line LAST year, 75.5% this year.

Bleh....thought you guys were talking about Jalen Smith for some reason.  I saw the words NBA and assumed.

Yeah Wiggins has taken a step back this year.  He has the ability to slash but his strength is shooting.

Wiggins 2018-2019: 41.3% 3 point

2019-2020: 32.2%

Free throw down 10% and overall FG 2.5. We’re  talking about Wiggins right?

Edit: Sorry saw the mix up above after I posted
