O's are finding out about him.  So far they know if he gets a 10 run lead he pitches pretty well.

But not if he “only” has a 5-1 lead?

I don’t think we know anything about how he pitches in laughers.   It’s kind of ridiculous to correlate the fact that he pitched well in one particular game to how many runs his own team scored in that game.

That said, he’s got a long way to go to prove he’s a decent major league pitcher.    The guy has 220 major league innings under his belt.   That’s not a ton, but it’s far from nothing.   It’s about 75 more innings than Tyler Wilson got, and 39 fewer than Mike Wright.   So far, the track record isn’t good.    But we’ve got nothing to lose by handing him the ball for two more starts.

Good Morning.  It was not a serious comment.

An upgrade on Tommy Milone then!

Playoff run-wise, TOR sees Cole Wednesday/Monday and is at (banged up, hopefully not collapsing) Philadelphia this weekend.

For all the 58/59/60 at Blue Jays recalls '89, the kid memory matrix is now on '82.  We'll need to race, and we'll need to sweep.

He can certainly be in the mix for a rotation spot next year but what does he do well outside of getting some ground balls?

His BB rate is pretty solid as well but he is throwing strikes at 57% rate with the Os.  He isn’t missing many bats.  His FIP is better than his ERA but it’s still not great.

Some of his batted ball data also suggests he has been lucky.

He will be 28 in February and has 220 innings under his belt and his career ERA is over 5.

You like that he can keep the ball down and on the ground but there has to be more there than that.

(vs. D-RAYS, 9/19)

This was another solid outing for Lopez, but the offense has only scored 1 run through the first 7 innings.

Just listened to the Matt Blood podcast yesterday, and I swear I thought I heard him say of Lopez something like "you don't find 6'5" guys with mid-90's stuff" on the waiver wire.   Curious how tall he looks to folks.  B-Ref lists Chris Tillman 6'5".

He's listed 6'2" everywhere, but was only 18 years, 4 months at the time of the 2011 draft, and I can believe certain official MLB listings being set in stone forever.  Savant has his four seam at 94 even this past year.
