The biggest problem for MC is someone has to go if he can't play the OF. Hate to see a young guy become a full time DH.

At the very least, Mountcastle should have thrown the runner out at 3rd base right there. That would have made it 2 outs, and a runner on 1st base. Now there is still only 1 out, and runners on 2nd and 3rd.

Why is he not DH again? Is Franco really that much worse at 3B than Mountcastle is in LF?

Time to call up Diaz to play left everyday at least until Hays is back.  I'd have Diaz starting in left Saturday night.

He honestly didn't have a lot of challenging plays last year in the outfield. It pretty obvious when he has to make anything other than a routine play, he's going to struggle.

Also, the diving play by Mullins in left center.... probably a ball a good left fielder gets to, but we're fortunate to have Mullins.

MC had a chance at that but Mullins called him off.

Not according to the radio guys, who say he took a lazy dive. However I am posting this after another showcase by MC. I don’t hate him, but I sure hate his left fielding. He shouldn’t be playing left field he should be a DH or first and eventually that’s where he will be. Until then we have to deal with things like this, and it apparently bothers you less than it bothers me.

addendum: It seems that other people have noticed as well, and like it as a little as I do.
