Ageless Adam Wainwright (2021 St. Louis Cardinals)

OK, he's not quite in the same arena of Warren Spahn winning 23 games at the age of 42 or Hoyt Wilhelm still twirling knuckle-balls at the age of 49 in 1972, but the 39 year-old Adam Wainwright has had 2 consecutive excellent starts in which he ceded only 3 Runs over 16 Innings Pitched ...... one of which was a Complete Game (9 Innings Pitched, 2 Runs.) In those 2 games, he had 18 Strikeouts and only 1 Walk !!! ) 

Last year, at the age of 38, Waino pitched to the tune of a 3.15 ERA and a 1.051 WHIP, and led the Major Leagues with 2 Complete Games (in a 60-game season.)

He's currently on the COVID-IL ...... who knows how much longer Waino can keep pitching at (at least) a respectable level when he comes back ??? Regardless, Cardinals fans have gotten many thrills over 17 seasons from the 6' 7" right-hander who was an Atlanta Braves 1st-Round draft pick out of high school in Georgia back in 2000.

I was just watching the Mets playing the Cardinals ...... the Cardinals lead by a score of 6-5 in the top of the 9th inning ...... the Mets have the potential tying run on 1st base with one out ...... and the lights go out in St. Louis !!! )
