We should demand at least two top 100 guys for Harvey.

100% agree. I want him to show consistent performance in AAA before he gets tossed to the wolves.

Bradish threw 5.1 innings tonight allowing one unearned run on four hits and two walks.   Only one strikeout.

Bradish pitched in relief of Zimmermann tonight and threw three shutout innings, one hit, one walk, five strikeouts.   The hit be allowed was the only one allowed by Tides pitchers tonight.

I posted this in another thread but thought it's more relevant here.

I haven't caught a broadcast that showed Bradish's velocity the whole time since early this year, but in that one his velocity really falls off after the 2nd or 3rd inning. 

It was interesting that they brought him out of the pen after being a primary starter all year. In his previous nine starts he pitched to a 6.14 ERA with a 21 to 42 BB t K ratio over 36.2 IP. Batters slashed .280/.364/.460/.824 of him over this stretch.

Now I will say the biggest difference I saw yesterday was his command was much better. they had him at 96 in his first inning of work, but not sure after that.

I did see he was working in his change more though it's not good.

He definitely has a reliever vibe for me.

He’s been pretty good in his last four outings, allowing just 3 runs in 17.1 IP.   Norfolk ERA down to 4.34.

It’s just unfortunate that so far all these “SP prospects” are looking like relievers, and it’s also unfortunate that we weren’t able to flip any relievers at this year’s trade deadline. 

 

Does Bradish have a comp?  It seems like he’s a slightly better Jason Berken.

This is why baseball teams are transitioning more towards openers. There are way more guys that can go 3-4 innings, then can go 6+

I'm surprised there hasn't been more stacking of 3-4 inning pitchers in games.  Pitcher 1 throws innings 1-4 and pitcher 2 throws innings 5-7 or 8.
