Too late.  If anything, i think the Braves are more likely gonna be sellers now - after losing their superstar, Acuna for the year, after they had already lost Ozuna and Soroka for the year, d'Arnaud for most of the year, and not to mention Ynoa breaking his hand punching a bench after looking like a ROY candidate.  Time for them to see what they have in Pache and Waters, imo.

They were under .500 even with Acuna.  You think one of those guys replacing Acuna will get them to the playoffs?

It's just not their year.

And Ian Anderson might go on the injured list after they look at his shoulder.  I can't see the Braves being buyers.  Of course, if someone gives them an offer they can't refuse, that's another story.

Anyone think the O's draft is an indication that the O's are looking to trade an OFer - particularly for a pitching prospect?

You would have to explain how 2021 draftees that takes at least two years to make the majors has any affect on the players in the majors before I would think there is any connecting between the draft and the trade deadline.

Presumably the O's are looking 2 years ahead.

And when you draft a college OFer 5th in the draft, you're kind of expecting him to be part of your future.  Not to mention, they haven't given up on Heston and have other OFers currently in AA that could factor in by then.

I still think we are mostly going to trade spare parts - Fry almost certainly. Maybe Sulser, although he's not a FA until 2026 or even arb eligible until 2023. Scott I could see because some teams are desperate for relief and he's got a few years of control and arb eligible 2022.
