• Hyde says Lakins is not strictly an opener, he is not "on a leash".   He pitched 4 innings in relief five days ago.
• Ramon Urias has an 8 game hitting streak
• Ryan Mountcastle has a 5 game walking streak
• The Orioles are using the optional "taxi squad" for this road trip to Houston and Anaheim.  These players are on hand in case a roster move has to be made.  They are not on the 26 man roster, and in some cases, are not on the 40 man roster so that would still have to be taken care of if they get added to the 26 in subsequent days.  They are C Nick Ciuffo, P Spenser Watkins, P Connor Green, and P Isaac Mattson.
• Trey Mancini will use pitching coach Chuck Ristano from Notre Dame as his pitcher for the Home Run Derby in Colorado.  Ristano pitched to Trey when he competed in a college HRD in 2012
• The league contacted the Orioles after a video surfaced of Hunter Harvey having a substance applied under his arm in the bullpen last night.  The Orioles say it is Icy Hot, for pain relief, and that Harvey has used it regularly for 9 years.
