I had been wondering if one of these was coming as the Mets race towards double digits in their preference list.

Also how far down the list do the Mets have to get before they call Dan Duquette. The Mets could do worse at hiring a new GM.

They already had a Duquette as GM.   Though I’d say Dan > Jim.

As to Sig, I’d hate to lose him at this point in our rebuild.   But, we should not deny him an opportunity to interview for a GM job if he is interested.

It's a clear promotion, it would be a bad look for the O's to deny him the interview if he wanted it.

No question on Dan vs. Jim for me. I agree the Orioles shouldn't block Sig if he really wants to interview with the Mets. It would be a petty move and something you would have expected from Peter Angelos back in the day.

I remember during the Toronto-Dan fiasco, there was some talk about Toronto trading a prospect or player for the right to negotiate with Dan. It fell through, but I wonder if something like that might be possible if the Mets are seriously interested?
