"Derek Lowe has received contract offers from at least two teams, including the World Champion Phillies, the Boston Globe reported Thursday.

The newspaper, citing a baseball source, reported the Phillies have made an offer and another unidentfied team -- not the Yankees or the Red Sox, though both teams are expected to meet with Lowe's agent Scott Boras this week -- have also submitted an offer."

So this means they're probably looking for a cheaper solution for LF, I suppose, unless they really think Burrell will take a big discount (doubt it) or that they can get by with Jenkins / Dobbs / maybe Mayberry? :confused:
