What makes this community great is the passion and attention for A-ball and short-season guys.

It seemed like Szymborski mostly named everyone who reached AA, and no one who didn't, so maybe high minors is his personal filter for relevance.

Look at the context of the article.  It isn't about the low minors.

Yeah, but you can't paint an honest picture if you're not talking about the low minors, too.  

Look at a guy like Mayo, is it inconceivable he's not at Bowie by September of 2022 and on top 100 lists?  As @Just Regularsaid, if that's his filter, it doesn't allow for him to look at guys who could make a big impact in 2022 and be in Baltimore by 2023.

If we are behind offensively, it’s mostly because the offensive players we acquired in the 2018 sell-off have produced nothing.  Diaz, Bannon, Encarnacion, Carmona, Cumberland.  Villar is gone, Valera was quickly dropped.  

If you look at Elias’ trades, he’s gone after pitchers or very young players.   

Frankly, I’m not surprised about where we are, especially considering that there was no MiL season in 2020.   If there had been, Rutschman would be up by now, and maybe Stowers too.  Henderson would be knocking on the door.

Not quite as much.  He might have started this year at Aberdeen instead of spending a month at Delmarva.  Either way he’d probably have ended the year at Bowie, but with a little more time there if 2020 had been played.

Would definitely have had a better chance of starting 2022 in Baltimore instead of Norfolk.

I don’t agree with this. We essentially were an expansion team when Elias took over. That guys that were here have developed nicely or maintained, in Hays, Mullins, Stander, Mountcastle, and Stewart. That’s 5/9ths of a team right there. Also, we lost a whole milb season due to Covid. 

We’ve had some nice waiver wire offensive pickups in Alberto, Severino, Nunez, and Urias. Mateo and Guiterrez show promise.  

Galvis and Iglesias did enough to get traded. That’s going to happen. That’s what you want to happen. 

We really only failed with keeping Yaz and Diaz flopping. Franco flopping as a FA signing. Kjerstad might be real close If he hadn’t developed a rare heart condition. 

We all know that other than AR and Stowers, our other legit offensive prospects are in AA or lower. Or about to get picked #1.

That’s one player.  No rebuild or whatever word you want to lose is made or broken from one player.
