What’s hilarious to me is that people voted no to this. This is a tailor made trade for everything going the O’s way. Mounty might be a non tender candidate this offseason. Maybe not, but there is some discussion there at least. He’s the least valuable DH option going forward into next year behind O’Hearn, Kjerstad, and Adley/Basallo. -
1. It’s not in NY, it’s in Baltimore. 2. McDermott had to be pulled after 1/3 of an inning yesterday so he’s in the same boat as Povich. 3. I think you roll with Povich. It’s one bad start. He was pretty good the previous four. -

Even with the HR yesterday, Mounty has been struggling since late April. That .284 OBP in the middle of the lineup is bad. He definitely shouldn’t be batting higher than 6th versus RHP with Kjerstad and O’Hearn healthy. -

Good thing we had Irvin as a long man than what we had before. I don’t think Vespi would’ve eaten 4 IP and we would’ve had to use 1-2 extra relievers. Now onto the not so good… Irvin couldn’t get outs in the best matchup in MLB. Facing Oakland in that ballpark. -

Right now he’s scheduled to pitch one of the three games next week at NYY. I’m not done with Povich for the year, but we could roll with McDermott that game. Or we could do a bullpen game. Keep in mind how big that the Yankees series is. We’re 5-2 H2H vs them this year. That would be the tie break after 162. As of now, Povich, Grayson, and Kremer are scheduled to start against Cole, Gil, and Rodon. I think we need some rotation shuffling. We should try and get it Burnes, Grayson, then bullpen game. The advantage to optioning Povich today is that we can get a fresh arm up here. Do we have a pitcher on the West Coast that we could even activate for today’s game if we optioned Povich? -

The idea of Chris Getz taking this down to the deadline holding out doesn’t sound like something I want to hinge a game 3 SP on. There’s too much risk in a Crochet deal for Elias. Being the risk adverse Dude he is, I’m thinking we go the rental route and maybe trade 1-2 guys #4-#20 for us to get one of Scherzer or Kikuchi.
