True.  I look back on Cal's career and often wonder what people would have thought about him if the OH existed during his career.

Haha. Cal won the MVP in 91?  with the crouched stance bat over shoulder.  Halfway through the next year he had the old stance back.  Markakis was annoying like that too.  Haha.  Annoying to me.

I don’t know.  Cal was and is my favorite all time player.  When the Babe Ruth Museum did his MVP exhibit in 1991, they used a bunch of my stuff.

He May have been the guy I wouldn’t have traded, especially at the age I was.

Can you imagine the outcry when Earl moved him to short in midseason?  No prep, just all of a sudden he's the shortstop?  He's 6' 4" and like 200+ pounds, as a shortstop?  Even in the minors he played way more third than short.  Clearly the dementia is setting in for Earl, it's all over.  Glenn Gulliver is now the third baseman?!  Oh well, it was a nice run.  Maybe we can rebuild something for '85 or '86...

Back to Adley, he has always been a guy that lets the ball travel deep.  It’s seems like he is maybe letting it get too deep at the moment and having a lot of weak contact.

I still think Rutschman will hit at the major league level, but I'm starting to have more and more concerns over him bringing usable game power to the field very often. Outside of homer friendly PG County Stadium in Bowie, he hasn't exactly shown a lot of game power consistently as a pro.

Right now they're getting him out with offspeed, but he's not really driving fastballs or anything really. 

37 of his 65 PAs (57%) are getting to two strikes where he's slashed .147/.216/.206/.422. Maybe he might want to be a little more aggressive early on in counts to get him going a bit. 

Something that is concerning is he's just not hitting hittable pitch in the zone or even on the shadow of the zone. He's already -5 runs in both areas but is plus 2 in the chase zones.

I once said that I had concerns about the inside part of the plate from the left side but he seemed to have closed that hole in AA and AAA last year. 

He hasn't hit anything hard on the inner portion of the strike zone when he bats left-handed.

The Orioles employ a crown the plate philosophy but I wonder if pushing Rutschman back about 4-6 inches would let him get to those inner pitches. So far pitchers haven't noticed as only 32% of the pitches have been on the inner half to him, but his lack of EV and success inside will be highlighted soon by major league pitchers if he doesn't find a way to get to them.

Touched 106 EV on the double this afternoon.   

The one AAA week in Charlotte with Statcast he had something a bit over 112 that at the time bettered Mountcastle's then team-best.

EV such a signature significance thing I know it is in there, but will be nice to once in a while see some evidence on a big league ballfield.

Actually, the 106 reading came on his line out to center.

The double was a 95mph EV.

Still nice to see him make hard contact.
