I got you. I don't think someone can be called a nerd for knowing about classic heavy metal! Yes, I like several tracks on the debut album, too. But for me, Killers is a complete album, from beginning to end. Those instrumental songs are something else.

First two albums were solid.

I do think they found a higher gear with Bruce.

Powerslave is basically the perfect album.  Seventh Son is close but Can I Play With Madness is one of the worst songs I’ve ever heard.

Best two in the BD era for me are the first two, Number of the Beast and Piece of Mind. Seventh Son is when they started adding synths and that was it for me.

You could say that.

Mostly late 60's-early 80's is my sweet spot.  I find most prog rock done after that to either be prog metal or not actually progressive.
