You can't clip these wings - City Connect jerseys

Recommendation to those who geek out on uniforms:
Uni-watch.com is a great website for those interested in the minutia, history, custom fan-art, general updates and leaks revolving around what teams are doing. It is equal parts fun and factual. And when I say minutia, that is not hyperbole:

Like last year, they will be keeping track of city connect again and have multiple posts on the subject already this year. Back in Sept they posted How Does Gen-Z Feel About City Connect Uniforms? where Phil explains why the initiative exists to go along with some fun Red Sox hate.

Definitely worth adding to your weekly traipse around the internet.

I've even purchased some retro O's stirrups to brandish at games. It's fun.

Padres connect unis last year were $$$.  The Nats were pretty great, also.  I hold out hope the Os will be good.

I think I'm in the minority, but I was a fan of the Angel's city connects jerseys, and in general I think it's a cool thing to do for teams and their fans.

  • 4 weeks later...

The Braves have a pretty slick site ready regarding the details of their City Connect: https://www.mlb.com/braves/fans/city-connect

As far as when dem O's will sport theirs...according to Uni-Watch:

Meanwhile, MLB has also revealed the on-field debut dates for the rest of this seasons’s CC uniforms:

  • Texas Rangers: April 21
  • Seattle Mariners: May 5
  • Cincinnati Reds: May 19
  • Baltimore Orioles: May 26
  • Pittsburgh Pirates: June 27

No word yet on the unveiling dates. In the past, however, CC unveilings have taken place a few days before the on-field debut.

    • Funny thing is, if the O's win, I'm generally so psyched on my way out that I don't even notice all of these annoyances. I'm just happy that the team won. That was my experience a lot this year when the team was doing well. Unfortunately about half of my 13 game season ticket plan was in August and September, plus I got to watch one of the pathetic WC games. You can smooth over a fair bit of fan annoyance with winning, but at the end of the day, someone has to care about the little things and actually invest money to make them better. There's no longer any question about whether the O's will be here to stay. The government and the team are aligned: OPACY and the Orioles are here, and we're going to make the best of what we have, and make it a centerpiece of Baltimore. That's great. But now they have to put their money where their mouths are. Show fans from all walks of life that we are able to reimagine OPACY and the surrounding area in the image of an efficient, clean, 21st century facility, starting with things as basic as infrastructure and plumbing, and ranging as far as parking, public trans, and food at the park. Honestly? I sort-of understood why they weren't investing in anything in the years when (1) the team was bad, and (2) ownership wasn't invested in the team, and (3) the renewal of the lease with the Maryland Stadium Authority was in doubt. The vast majority of points (1), (2) and (3) above are now non-issues, or have been majorly mitigated in the past 2 years. So it's time to make things right. Otherwise why bother with the long-term commitment at all, if you're just going to let the project languish?

    • Highlight: Dodgers at Padres (10/08/2024) | MLB Gameday According to the announcers, Manny said that Buck Showalter taught him this.
    • I still think Soto (Juan, not any of the others) checks off all the boxes here.  Insanely productive, plays hard, can rub opponents the wrong way on the field but is generally liked off of it.
    • We're not a mid-market team. Small market for sure.
    • Things looking bleak for KC. They left 11 runners on base, got a taste of their own medicine, I guess.
