Cowser will be fine, but once Mullins comes back it might be time to try Kjerstad

Absolutely not. We should know by now that rookies struggle innitially and you would just be resetting the clock on the struggle bus for longer periods of no productivity. Kjerstad barely has 1 month experience in AAA baseball.

It's not time for Kjerstad until both Westburg and Cowser are up and running, or Cowser gets traded.

Everybody was clamoring and begging for Cowser like they didn't know this would happen. Now they're doing the same for the next shiny prospect.

It happens. It's part of the process. You can't just swap one inexperienced struggling rookie in the lineup for another and expect much of a different result.

So... a struggling Cowser is somehow different from a promoted Kjerstad?

Care to explain how?

ATP takes several minutes to regenerate after depletion. The sprint between bases wouldn't tap you entirely, but I don't think you would be back to full go on back-to-back pitches, which matters when the difference between out and safe is milliseconds.

Running 90ft isn't going to fully deplete Mateo's ATP reserves. Not even close.  The timing of the jump (or lacktherof) made a bigger difference than fatigue.

Yes, full ATP regeneration takes a couple minutes.  But most of the regeneration takes place in the first 30 seconds.  The rest ("top off") takes up the rest of the time. Kind of like when you charge your phone when the battery is empty.  0-80% happens really fast, the topping off occurs slowly.

80% ATP capacity isn't going to make a difference in an athlete running 90ft.  300ft (100 meters) absolutely.  Just ask any professional running back.

Love nerding out on exercise science.  That is what my degree is in and what I've been doing for 12 years of my career.
