Will he hit one by the next time Halley's Comet comes around? Edited August 22, 2023 by O's84
forphase1
Hate seeing the nice Adley double wasted like that.

It’s terribly annoying and seems to happen with baseball and football the most. I will call and have them tell me again it isn’t on their end. I don't know what to tell you. We have 2 switch hitting outfielders hurt right now. We had a young outfielder up and he OPSed in the 400s for 60 at bats, AND he is a lefty. When facing a lefty you want to get RH bats in the lnieup. McKenna basically only starts vs lefties. I know he's not a good RH bat, but he is an RH bat. In Kikuchi's major league career, he gives up a .847 OPS to righties and a .637 OPS to lefties You really want to start an extra LH bat such as Frazier or O'Hearn in the OF against him, and have a big dropoff from McKenna defensively, given those #s? Stop getting emotional and use your brain and look at the alternatives. WIth Santander hurt and Hicks on the IL and our potential best OF bats in Norfolk (Kjerstad, Stowers, Cowser) ALL being lefties, there is currently NO ONE IN THE ORGANIZATION who should be starting against lefties right now. It's the right move and justifiable by anyone who looks at the facts. Yes I would rather have Ohearn who has been batting 4th for us all year hit over Ryan McKenna. 10 times out of 10. Without question. Don’t care he’s a lefty

He could play for a lot of good teams. He just mentally checks out too much and too often for me to want him around. Maybe he could play for a lot of good teams, and I'll be happier when that good team isn't the Os. He's hitting at a .664 OPS clip, and his splits really aren't different enough to justify having him as a RHP or LHP specialist (.689 versus .655). I know some guys are banged up and that's why he's starting. But I hope in the near future when someone is injured we have better than McKenna to slot into the lineup.
