Attending first game in a long time

Any tips for attendance? Plan on taking the light rail.  (full disclosure; I posted on another board while waiting for my registration here)

I am a little bummed that the rotation got tweaked a little so instead of seeing Rodriquez, I am stuck with Flaherty. :( But maybe I have a better chance of seeing lots of runs.

How long is a long time?  I’d say, get there good and early and do a swing around the whole stadium.  Certainly, the statues in CF of the O’s who are in the Hall of Fame are not to be missed.

The other thing I’d say is, consider bringing your own food if you’re on a tight budget.  There are decent food options at OPACY but prices have gotten pretty high.

Which game are you attending?   Cole Irvin is starting tonight, and as far as I can tell the Orioles have not yet annouunced Saturday and Sunday starters.

Long time equals 10+ years. I've been to about 20 games at Camden Yards (including the inaugural, 2131, and a few playoff gams). Jr Oriole season(s) ticket holder at Memorial Stadium. Ticket's were $3 each for 10 games.

I have tickets for Monday and really hoping the rain holds off. I looked on CBS sports for the rotation so maybe those are just guesses.

Should be in the area by 3pm. Do they have scooters to use in the city?

Light rail is slow coming from the North to the South. Sometimes they run trains with only one car during Oriole games,so not everyone gets on. When leaving if you are traveling northbound towards Hunt Valley, get on at Camden Yards not Convention Center. Depending on the game, gates open 1 hour before gametime except for Saturday, which is two hours before. They have opened two hours before for the Mets and Yankees the last two weekends, not sure about this weekend.

Gates won't open till an hour before gametime. But probably around 15,000 people.

Yeah, light rail is an excellent option coming from the south, I use it all the time.   But from what I have heard, it's not good coming from the north (say Hunt Valley).   SO many stops, delays for track work, etc.

Probably coming from Fairgrounds(Timonium) around 2pm. Budget is not really a concern. Is uber better than LR? LR was so good and easy in years past. Don't really want to drive into the city so that's not really an option.

Be prepared to spend a lot of money on concessions. FYI you are allowed to bring in food and unopened water bottles.

Plan on eating somewhere at the harbor before the game. But yes, I saw $8 hotdogs and $$ beer. This trip is more about convenience than cost.

I was going to ask about best seats but I couldn't get registered before I wanted to buy them so I went with section 50 based research. Never sat that close for MLB game. Pretty excited about that.

Thanks everyone for the quick responses!

The two 410 kiosks are a great value.  Every item on a limited menu is $4.10.  The hot dogs are equivalent or better than the expensive ones elsewhere.  One of the kiosks is near Gate D between home and first and the other one is between home and third somewhere -- both on the "outside" of the concourse.  Canned drinks (sodas) are also $4.10 there.  They do sell beer but not for $4.10😁

Light Rail is fine. Just slow and at that time should not be crowded.. If you get there that early, if you can walk maybe Topgolf  or casino. Section 771 near Pickles used to be Sliders is not bad for food and beverages, they open at 3 PM during the week Pitamore is not bad either for Mediterranean food. They get the shock trauma ,University of Maryland crowd. Clock Restoration resturant is really good but closed Monday. Black wall Hitch is also good ,mostly seafood. But near the harbor and a nice wslk.

Black wall Hitch would be my recommendation. You can look up the menu online. Near the harbor and a little upscale.
