Then hope Cease stays put in CWS. Gotta play that FA defense. Doing nothing, always the O's strong suit.

Hopefully not as good as Santander or Hays in 2024 competition. I don't know who is the world's best pitcher, but I am pretty sure Jose Caballero is the world's best Gerrit Cole irritant so that's kind of fun. What are Julio and Big Dumper saying on the socials? Speaking of irritants, Brandon Hyde is probably happy that Robbie Ray will be in the NL this year.

If the Orioles had made a move today that wasn't about "getting better baseball wise" but was about "money" the people describing this move as "good" would be torching it. That's a simple fact. Apples and oranges. If the Orioles got rid of a player only to save money, the profits would go directly into the POS owner's pockets so, no, it wouldn't be a good thing. Other teams, however, would likely then spend that money on another player who can help them. The M's moved out a guy coming off TJ, with a high salary, to make room for some good/young/controlled pitching already in the org AND also now have more cash to use on position player(s) if they want. Yeah, fair enough, but at least they spent on Ray in the first place. The Orioles don't every spend on anyone.
Yardball85
Reports of a Kittredge to Cardinals deal being close and the Orioles being among other teams interested in Ryan Brasier.
Moose Milligan
Brasier is alright. He’s been very up and down in his career but I’d like to see what the Orioles could do with him.
interloper
Always down with bullpen support. Still think it's an underrated need. Found this random youtube on Brasier, who was terrible with the Sox but great with the Dodgers after going there mid-season. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8Y32Ds7EfQ
Sanity Check
Interesting to me the Brasier, and Evan Phillips both had exceptional results in LA after mostly being meh.....

The players going to Seattle are guaranteed 32M this year and combined for a - .1 rwar this year. Haniger has a 15.5M player option for 2025 that looks 99% that he will take. Who’s getting money from whom in this deal?

No because most teams have a higher payroll, and they also tend to reinvest money saved back in the team somewhere. That's something that we have not seen from the current owner. Just Regular
Richie Palacios was a Towson Tiger. I saw Michael Brantley retired today, and admit I gave a little exhale as I did 4% expect Mike Elias to troll the board by signing Brantley Adam Frazier-style. If the Mariners would have kept Ray they would have owed him $24M this season, $25M next season, and #25M the following season. There's very little chance he would have exercised his opt out after the 2024 because it's a shortened season for him (i.e., less time to prove himself). So they would have probably been on the hook for $74M total over the next three seasons Now they only have to pay Declafani this seasson ($12M) and Haniger potentially for two seasons ($17M + $15.5M). That's a savings of almost $30M and they freed up a spot for one of their young arms long term.
