That's because it wasn't reported until he was claimed today. Sneaky as usual for Elias.

Perhaps they hoped his salary would prevent him from being claimed like O'Hearn last year. It's still very early to do it, though.

Doesn't seem like there is any place online where all these DFA's are public, If anyone knows I'd like to know. Seems teams like to keep this on the down low as much as possible unless they claim someone.

Maybe this is mostly because of Cowser performing so well to start spring training, along with the fact the team really wants to get him going in the big leagues. It doesn't make any sense to have 3 Left Handed Batting outfielders competing for the platoon roles when we already have a starting left handed center-fielder.

RosterResource, apparently determined to keep both Kjerstad and Cowser at Norfolk, has initially pivoted to Nick Maton becoming the last man on the bench.

I usually find it surprisingly on target. Does anyone know how it is updated? Like is there a paid human or is it just an algorithm? If the latter it is quite good. They have Holliday as our starting 2B for what it's worth.

It seems to me the bench is going to come down to a pairing of Mateo (RHB)/Daniel Johnson (LHB) vs Maton (LHB)/McKenna(RHB). Mateo/Maton doesn't sound right unless you believe that Mateo is the backup CF as well as SS.

It might like Maton over Johnson due to being on the 40 man roster but then how is Holliday in the starting lineup? Seems like it must be a human Holliday fan.

If our bench is McCann, Urias, Mateo and Maton, this website might break

Jason Martinez is the founder and director of content - I believe it is largely him.

Playing time guesses still have some human art form in them.

It was years ago, but I've heard podcasters mention Club contacts have told them he does such a good job they reference it.

His or his staff's speed is impressive - many is the time I learn of something here within minutes of something breaking, and it can be hard to catch the Before a Transaction snapshot if you go there even an hour or two later.

    • The outfield might be slick from all the rain. I think that can influence lineup decisions.
    • @Bahama O's Fanor a free trial of any streaming platform. YouTube TV, Directtv, etc.
    • I’ve been rending my garments over Adley and his struggles for months now. But I will say that it seems like a bit of an odd time to come together as a group on the notion of benching him — just as he’s been starting to show some signs of being Adley again.  Over the last week of the season, Adley had a 50% hard hit rate and an average EV of 89.9 MPH. Those numbers absolutely dwarf what he was doing for months, when he was sitting at more like a 26% HH rate and an 85 MPH EV. Anecdotally, I can’t even remember the last time we saw Adley drive a ball into the left-center gap like he did multiple times against MIN. That’s Adley at his very best, and it was a sight for sore eyes.  I’m not sold that he’s 100% back, and I would still stick with McCann catching Burnes tomorrow (especially since using Adley as the DH is viable with a LHP starter in Ragans). But I sincerely doubt we can run the table without at least a few stretches of Adley being Adley — so I think this recent spurt is probably enough to warrant sending him out there every day still, in hopes that he really is getting it locked back in.
    • Apparently, if you just waited to buy tickets, you could just basically go for free. Well done orioles.
    • Well, they likely would not have drafted an overslot SS with the second round pick if they had taken another HS SS first overall, so would you rather have Henderson and Rutschman or just Witt?
    • It’s my understanding that nationally televised games are usually blacked out. Consider a free trial subscription of Fubo if they are still offering it.
    • The Orioles starters absolutely have to do better against the Royals. You can't ask this bullpen to pitch most of the game and expect to win. Right now I probably trust Coulombe the most and Soto (which I never would have guessed a couple weeks back). Perez has been really shaky recently to the point I'm wondering is he nursing a tired arm or minor injuey. Cano hasn't been good as well and O's really need him to get back into a groove. And Akin is usually trustworthy, but only starting the inning clean.
