What a disaster for the Dodgers to have to play their best player way out of position because they went into the year with an unproven Lux who looked terrible at SS in camp. 

So, this is their solution. 

Just two weeks ago, general manager Brandon Gomes was adamant that Lux would “absolutely” be the Dodgers' shortstop.

And now, 12 days before Los Angeles begins its season against the San Diego Padres in Seoul, South Korea, those plans have changed and the 10-year veteran will take over the position.

Sure, but in our case the moves contemplated are standard procedure: from the premium defensive positions (3B and SS, respectively) down the scale to lesser positions--the opposite of Betts.
