Definitely a lot of smoke there...

Scare tactic?

I'm not sure. One thing for certain is, this is the worst time to announce your Ace is not well. The price goes up for SP. I don't believe there will be any Aces traded today, though.

Wait wasn’t the conversation why the Phillies were willing to part with Dominguez? At least that’s the point I made. Their pen is way better than ours and so is their rotation. How are we supposed to compete with that? Or is that not the goal to be the best?

Gosh, how on earth can the Orioles, a team that took 2 out of 3 from the Phillies a month ago, ever going to compete with the Phillies, a team that is a mere 2.5 games better than the Orioles at the moment? It boggles the mind. 🙄

I do think the Yankees end up with Flaherty though.

I didn't say easy.

I didn't say they didn't give up value.

But how wasn't it safe?

Trading depth for a proven pitcher on a one year deal.

That's safe.

Then I hope Elias continues to play it safe with every single trade he makes.

Agree on the timing.  Maybe it's a bluff of motive to signal competitors to raise bids or call?  Odd if not legit.

Andujar from Oakland. Ward/Pillar are names to watch for RHH OF.

I want to like Andujar. Former Yankee. Lefty masher.

Ward has been absolutely dreadful for two solid months.

He's been bad this season, I have no doubt something is going on with him.

If Elias trades for a RP, that means he either has to DFA Irvin or option Akin. Has Elias ever DFA’d a player we still owe a 1+ million to, other than Tony Kemp?

Depends on who goes back in the trade, I guess.

The problem with Andujar is he is an OF in name only.

If we want a RHH DH we will just bring up Mayo.
